2023 Mazda CX-30 - Cascade Mazda
The Mazda CX-30 is the smallest SUV in the Mazda lineup, deftly combining versatile handling with near-luxury interior comfort. The Mazda CX-30 makes for an excellent commuter or compact family hauler thanks to its well-rounded set of standard features. The Mazda CX-30 offers up a total of seven trim levels: 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.
What's new to 2023
The new Mazda CX-30 gets little in the way of updates. In fact, the 2023 model year nixes the 2.5 Turbo trim while also increasing base engine power output.
Performance
The Mazda CX-30 offers up impressive power out of the gate, to the tune of 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. More power can be had in the form of a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that makes 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and all trims come standard with a 6-spoeed automatic transmission.
Technology
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 ensures impressive technology with all trims, with even the base 2.5 S trim coming with serious features. The 2.5 S trim comes with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and an 8-speaker audio system. Quite impressive compared to other SUVs in the same class as the CX-30. The Select trim doesn't make any tech additions, so you'll have to move to the Premium trim if you're looking for more. The Premium trim adds a head-up display, a navigation system, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. All trims above the Premium trim come with the same set of tech features.
Interior Features
Comfort and convenience offerings abound with the latest model year of the Mazda CX-30. Standard offerings including air conditioning and seating for five while the Select trim adds dual-zone automatic climate control, faux leather upholstery, a center armrest for rear seats, tinted rear windows, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Preferred trim gains heated front seats, a sunroof, and power adjustable driver's seat. The Carbon Edition adds some flair, offering drivers red leather seats. The Premium trim is seriously well-equipped, coming with leather upholstery and a power liftgate. The 2.5 Turbo Premium comes with a heated steering wheel. The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trim comes with increased driver assistance features.
Safety
As with most other Mazda models, the Mazda CX-30 comes with a suite of driver assistance features. The 2.5 S includes forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, drowsy driver monitor, and automatic high beams. Moving to the Select trim adds blind spot warning while the Premium trim is required if you're interested in additional driver assistance features. The Premium trim adds traffic sign reader, a head-up display, and adaptive headlights. The top-level 2.5 turbo Premium Plus trim adds front/rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic with automatic braking, and traffic jam assist.
